
NOTICE
The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida announces the following Board Policy action will be taken at its meeting on:

To Amend School Policies 1130, 3130 and 4130, Assignments, and Policy 1130.01, Re-Assignments of Administrators, to incorporate changes made by 2026 Florida House Bill 1073. Each policy would be revised to
incorporate the new statutory definition of "good cause" for a school board to reject candidates nominated to fill
positions. "Good cause" now means a school board has determined any of the following: that the nominated candidate fabricated or materially exaggerated his or her credentials or background; that the nominated candidate does not meet the minimum requirements for the position; or that the nominated candidate's educator certificate has been revoked by another state.

If requested, a hearing will be held during the October 14, 2026 School Board meeting. Persons requesting such a
hearing must submit a written request to the Superintendent of Schools, Room 912, same address as above, by
September 9, 2026. The policy will be effective upon filing with The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida on
October 14, 2026. A person wishing to appeal any decision made by The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, with respect to any action on this policy should ensure the preparation of a verbatim record of the proceedings,
including the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. Copies of the policy and the notice of
intended action are available to the public for inspection and copying at cost in the Citizen Information Center, Room 102, 1450 N.E. Second Avenue, Miami, Florida.
