Public Notice NOTICE TO QUALIFIED CONTRACTORS Miami-Dade County is soliciting interested contractors to register to participate and perform in Miscellaneous Construction Contract (MCC) Bids under the MCC 7040 & 7360 Plan projects. Contractual Opportunities are continuously available for all businesses located in Miami-Dade who are interested in doing business with the County. REGISTERING WITH MIAMI-DADE COUNTY MUST BE DONE VIA MIAMI-DADE COUNTY’S AUTOMATED WEB-BASED VENDOR REGISTRATION PORTAL. Please visit the STRATEGIC PROCUREMENT DEPARTMENT (SPD) Vendor Services page at http://supplier.miamidade.gov, to enroll as a vendor. The types of contracts available under the MCC Program are construction projects, facility repairs, neighborhood improvements, emergency repairs and maintenance work with a maximum value of $5.0M; ORD 09-101. All capital departments are participating. Additional opportunities are available through Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) which enables low-income families to reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. Funds are used to improve the energy performance of dwellings by families in need, using the most advanced technologies and testing procedures available in the housing industry. Measures to make homes more energy efficient include: replacement or installation of key components, installation of energy recovery ventilation systems including bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans and installation of whole mechanical exhaust systems to provide better indoor air quality, install attic insulation, install window solar films, repair or replace inefficient cooling units, repair or replace water heaters and address air infiltration with weather stripping, caulking thresholds, minor wall repairs, ceiling and floors, windows and doors. A V A I L A B L E MCC 7360 PLAN – REQUEST FOR PRICE QUOTATION (RPQ) 1) People and Internal Operations Department – Marcela Rodriguez – (305) 375-1138 RPQ No: I190277-R - REG Justice Building Improvements to Life Safety Equipment ESTIMATED COST: $1,554,768.00 LICENSE REQUIREMENT: General Building Contractor, Building Contractor SCOPE OF WORK: Prospective bidder shall carefully examine the site of the work and be satisfied as to all observable conditions. Bidder shall be responsible for measuring and calculating amount of work. Bid price is to include the removal and proper disposal of all work- related debris. The project consists of, and is not limited to, furnishing all materials, labor, services, supervision, tools, equipment, including all associated permits, and all other items necessary for the successful completion of the project, which shall include the replacement of the existing emergency generator and fire pump for the REG Courthouse. All work will need to be completed after business hours. The purpose of this project is to upgrade and replace the emergency generator and fire pump of the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building. To include the fire pump controller and associated equipment and supporting panels. The existing operation of the Facility must be maintained during construction. Contractor is responsible for coordinating access and construction activities to avoid any interruption to the operation of the REG Courthouse. Contractor to coordinate with County personnel to turn over existing generator to County Utilities Manager. Pre-Bid Meeting and Site Visit: A MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING AND SITE VISIT ARE SCHEDULED. It is highly recommended that Bidders interested in attending the Meeting and Site Visit pre- register by emailing marcela.rodriguez@miamidade.gov (copy clerkbcc@miamidade.gov). Bidder must submit a completed, notarized Confidentiality Affidavit in order to attend the Pre-Bid Meeting and Site Visit - form provided in the Bid Documents (marcela.rodriguez@miamidade.gov, copy clerkbcc@miamidade.gov). When and if available a County staff notary will be on site to provide notary services. In the event the staff notary is unavailable on site, it remains the Bidder’s responsibility to provide notarized Confidentiality Affidavit. The purpose of this project is to enhance pedestrian and bicycle safety and accessibility for students traveling to and from school. The proposed improvements support Safe Routes to School initiatives by strengthening pedestrian infrastructure, increasing motorist awareness within designated school zones, and improving traffic operations and overall roadway safety conditions in the vicinity of schools. B. Work under this Contract shall include, but not be limited to, furnishing all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools, and incidentals required to complete the installation, construction, modification, and upgrade of pedestrian and roadway safety infrastructure associated with Safe Routes to School improvements. The work may include, but is not limited to, the installation, modification, and/or upgrade of traffic control devices, pedestrian safety features, and associated roadway infrastructure within designated school zones and adjacent corridors. Improvements may include school speed zone signage and flashing beacon assemblies, school crosswalk signage, pavement markings, sidewalks, curb and gutter, ADA-compliant pedestrian curb ramps, pedestrian signal indications and push-button detection at existing signalized intersections, electrical service and control assemblies, and other related traffic control, pedestrian accessibility, and roadway safety enhancements necessary to support Safe Routes to School improvements, as well as other related appurtenances necessary to complete the work. All work shall be performed in accordance with the construction plans, technical specifications, and applicable standards contained in the Contract Documents. C. In the event that discrepancies arise between the design documents and existing field conditions, or when modifications are required to accommodate site constraints, utilities, or operational considerations, the Engineer shall evaluate the conditions and provide written direction. Any such determination by the Engineer shall govern the resolution of the conflict and the execution of the work. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: 1. The Bidder must demonstrate that it has full-time personnel with the necessary experience to perform the Project’s Scope of Work. This experience shall include work in successfully completed projects performed by the identified personnel whose bulk of work performed in the Public Right-of-Way is similar in detail to the Project’s Scope of Work described in these Solicitation Documents. Demonstrate the experience requirement by: a. Providing a detailed description of at least three (3) projects similar in detail to the Project’s Scope of Work described in these Solicitation Documents and in which the Bidder’s identified personnel is currently engaged or has completed within the past five years.
