View original filePublic Notice The Board of County Commissioners of Miami-Dade County, Florida, will conduct a public hearing in its meeting room on the 2nd floor of the Stephen P. Clark Government Center, 111 NW 1st Street, Miami, Florida, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 9:30 A.M., to consider creation of “Olga Lidia Subdivision Multipurpose Maintenance and Street Lighting Special Taxing District.” A petition for the creation and establishment of a special taxing district under the provisions of Chapter 18 of the Code of Miami-Dade County has been filed with the Clerk of the Board. Services to be provided will include street lighting services and, if and when necessary, multipurpose maintenance services.
The boundaries of the proposed district are generally described as follows:
Bounded on the North by S.W. 245 Terrace; Bounded on the East by S.W. 128 Avenue; Bounded on the South by Theoretical S.W. 246 Street; Bounded on the West by S.W. 129 Avenue.
Implementation of the assessment rolls will be in accordance with the procedures defined in Chapter 18 of the Code. The Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department has advised that the assessments for all individual properties within the district are based on the assessable square foot for the multipurpose maintenance and on the assessable front foot for the street lighting.
The maintenance assessment covering a 12-month period will be computed by multiplying the total assessable square footage by the rate of $0.7921 per assessable square foot and is based on an estimate of costs if service were to commence in 2026. In the event any homeowners association or community development district fails to provide maintenance services, the multipurpose maintenance preliminary assessment roll will be presented to the Board for their consideration. Actual costs to provide multipurpose maintenance services will be determined and presented to the Board at that time. All future assessments will be computed on an annual basis.
The street lighting assessment covering a 12-month period will be computed by multiplying the lot or parcel assessable front footage by the rate of $21.2230 per assessable front foot. All future assessments will be computed on an annual basis.
The assessments will be included in the Combined Property Tax Bill and collected by the Tax Collector. Per Florida Statutes, failure to pay non-ad valorem assessments when due [payable November 1 through March 31] will cause issuance of a tax certificate against the property, which may result in loss of title.
