NOTICE OF HEARING OF LOCAL
PLANNING AGENCY AND NOTICE OF AMENDMENT TO LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS
Public Notice is hereby given that the City of Aventura Local Planning Agency will meet in a public hearing on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. to make a recommendation regarding the adoption of the following Ordinance:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AVENTURA, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 31, "LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS" OF THE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES TO CREATE SECTION 31-144(g) "AVENTURA METROPOLITAN URBAN CENTER ZONING DISTRICT OVERLAY", TO PROVIDE FOR A NEW ZONING DISTRICT OVERLAY AND RELATED REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE CODE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Immediately following the Local Planning Agency Meeting, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., the City Commission of the City of Aventura, as the governing body, will consider the above-described Ordinance for adoption. The Public Hearings will be held in the City of Aventura Government Center City Commission Chamber, 19200 West Country Club Drive, Aventura, Florida, 33180. Information will be provided on the meeting agenda for April 7, 2026 available on the City's website (www.cityofaventura.com) for public access to the public hearings. The proposed Ordinance may be inspected by the public at the Office of the City Clerk, 19200 West Country Club Drive, Aventura, Florida, and/or on the City's website as part of the respective agendas. Interested parties may appear at the Public Hearings and be heard with respect to the proposed Ordinance.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, all persons who are disabled and who need special accommodations to participate in this proceeding because of that disability should contact the Office of the City Clerk, (305) 466-8901, not later than two business days prior to such proceedings.
If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the City Commission with respect to any matter considered at a meeting or hearing, that person will need a record of the proceedings and, for such purpose, may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
