Proposed Plan for OU-33
Homestead Air Reserve Base, Florida
As part of the Air Force's Environmental Restoration Program at Homestead Air Reserve Base (HARB), the Air Force and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) has prepared a No Action Proposed Plan at Operable Unit (OU) 33, Former Grenade Range/Explosive Ordnance Disposal Range.
When no release is identified, no contamination is reported, or low levels of contamination do not pose risk and do not affect current or proposed future land use, multiple response action alternatives do not have to be developed and analyzed under The Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). Therefore, this document proposes No Action and summarizes the data from the investigations that support this proposed response at OU-33.
The Proposed Plan provides background information for OU-33 and information about historical investigations at the site. The plan also describes the various community participation activities available to the public. The Proposed Plan and other site-related information can be found on the Air Force's Administrative Record website at: http://afcec.publicadmin-record.us.af.mil. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Continue to Site" to access the administrative record. Ensure "Active Duty" is selected in the upper left, scroll down the Installation List and select "Homestead ARB, Fl", then enter 647820 in the "AR #" field and click "search". In the search results at the bottom of the screen, click the "view" icon to review the Proposed Plan for OU-33. For more information or to submit written comments no later than 31 December 2025, please contact us at: Homestead Air Reserve Base 29350 Westover Avenue, Bldg 232 Homestead ARB, Florida 33039 Attn: Jo-An Seipp or at joan.seipp.1@us.af.mil. A public meeting may also be held, if requested.
All comments provided prior to the comment period deadline (or during a public meeting, if requested) will be summarized and recorded in the Responsiveness Summary, which will become part of the Record of Decision for OU-33.
