NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION Para más detalles llame 1-800-660-6789 PROJECT NAME: LOS BANOS-LIVINGSTON JUNCTION-CANAL 70 KV RECONDUCTORING PROJECT (MERCED COUNTY), T.0000157) ADVICE LETTER NUMBER: 7985-E Proposed Project: In order tos in crease reliability to communities in the western Merced County, PG&E is proposing to replace existing power line poles and conductor on approximately 2.4 miles of the existing Los Banos-Livingston Junction - Canal 70 kilovolt (kV) Power Line, from Los Banos Substation to Santa Nella Substation. In order to support the replacement conductors, PG&E must replace approximately 15 existing wood poles with new light-duty steel poles that will be weathered to resemble wood. Existing structure heights range from approximately 45 to 80 feet tall. New structure heights will range from approximately 48 to 80 feet tall. The taller structures are needed to accommodate the heavier conductor and meet California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) General Order (GO) 95 minimum ground to conductor clearance requirements. Approximately two existing lattice steel towers will have grade beam foundation modifications installed, which will be below grade and not visible post-construction. The line begins at Los Banos Substation, located at the southwest corner of the intersection of State Route 152 and State Route 33 in Merced County. The line exits the substation and travels north for 1.5 miles on lattice steel towers which parallel the western side of State Route 33. The line then transitions to poles and continues travelling north for 0.75 mile, paralleling the western side of State Route 33. The line then turns east for 0.15 mile, including crossing over State Route 33, to terminate at the existing Santa Nella Substation located on the south side of the unincorporated community of Santa Nella, approximately 0.3 mile south of the intersection of State Route 33 and Vera Cruz Drive. A helicopter, bucket trucks, and crew trucks will be used to facilitate construction. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in the spring of 2028, or as soon as practicable after project approval. Construction is tentatively scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2028, or as soon as possible after construction begins. Exemption from CPUC Permit Requirement: CPUC General Order 131-E, Section III, Subsection B.2, exempts a utility from the CPUC’s requirement to file an application requesting authority to construct if a project meets specific conditions.
