NOTICE OF ELECTION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Livingston, County of Merced, State of California, on the 3rd day of November 2026, for the purpose of electing the following positions: • One (1) Mayor, full term of two (2) years; • Two (2) Councilmembers, full term of four (4) years; • One (1) Councilmember, partial term of two (2) years; • One (1) City Clerk, partial term of two (2) years; and • One (1) City Treasurer, partial term of two (2) years Polling places will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. Candidate filing forms must be completed by the candidate at the Merced County Registrar of Voters Central Count Facility, 250 E. 15th Street, Merced, CA, commencing July 13, 2026, and shall be filed no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 7, 2026. Ramirez Administrador de la Alcaldía Ciudad de Livingston LEGAL PUBLIC NOTICE CITY OF LIVINGSTON “NOTICE TO VOTERS OF NOTICE OF ELECTION” AND “MEASURES TO BE VOTED ON” NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following measures are to be voted on at the consolidated municipal statewide general election (Gubernatorial) election on November 3, 2026, for the purpose of submitting the following measures to the voters of the City of Livingston: MEASURE (APPOINTIVE CITY CLERK) The City Clerk shall no longer be an elective official in the City of Livingston. From and after November 2028, or upon earlier vacancy in the office of City Clerk, the City Clerk shall be appointed YES by the City Council. The City Clerk so appointed shall hold office at the pleasure of the City Council and, notwithstanding California Government Code section 36502 to the contrary, is not required to be a resident or elector in the City. The City Council may by Ordinance vest in the City Manager its authority to appoint the City Clerk and City Treasurer. NO Shall the office of the City Clerk be Appointive? MEASURE (APPOINTIVE CITY TREASURER) The City Treasurer shall no longer be an elective official in the City of Livingston. From and after November 2028, or upon earlier vacancy in the office of City Treasurer, the City Treasurer shall YES be appointed by the City Council. The City Treasurer so appointed shall hold office at the pleasure of the City Council and, notwithstanding California Government Code section 36502 to the contrary, is not required to be a resident or elector in the City. The City Council may by Ordinance vest in the City Manager its authority to appoint the City Treasurer. NO Shall the office of the City Treasurer be Appointive? DIRECT ARGUMENTS: Any person wishing to submit a direct argument “in favor of” or “in opposition to” the ballot measures shall file such argument with Livingston City Clerk, 1416 C Street, Livingston, California, on or before 4:00pm on August 10, 2026, which argument shall not exceed three hundred (300) words in length. A 10-day public review period follows for direct arguments, which begins August 11, 2026, and closes on August 20, 2026. REBUTTAL ARGUMENTS: The authors of the direct arguments, or any other person or persons they authorize in writing, may similarly submit a rebuttal argument to the direct arguments referenced above. Any rebuttal arguments “in favor of” or “in opposition to” the ballot measures shall file such argument with the Livingston City Clerk Office, 1416 C Street, Livingston, California on or before 4:00pm on August 17, 2026., which argument shall not exceed 250 words in length. A 10-day public review period follows for direct rebuttal arguments, which begins August 18, 2026, and closes on August 27, 2026. SELECTION OF ARGUMENTS: Arguments that are selected for printing and distribution to the voters shall be selected in accordance with section 9287 of the Election Code.
