Merced Irrigation District (District) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:
Merced River Salmonid Habitat Restoration Project Above Henderson Park.
Bids for the construction of the Project will be received through the MID Procurement Portal, until Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM local time. Bids must be submitted through the MID Procurement Portal at:
https://mercedid.bonfirehub.com/opportunities/232811. Bids submitted by fax, mail, email, in-person, or any transmission other than the MID Procurement Portal will not be considered. Bids will be electronically unsealed and amounts and award will be posted on the Procurement Portal when available.
Project Description:
The project consists of restoring approximately 1500 feet of the Merced River channel to improve habitat for spawning and rearing salmon. The restoration will rehabilitate salmonid spawning and incubation habitat and will reconnect off channel rearing habitat for juvenile salmonids. This section of river is directly upstream from Henderson Park and about 1.5 miles east of the town of Snelling in Merced County. The budget for this project is $1,509,000.00.
Milestone: All in-river work will be limited to the period of June 15, 2026, through October 15, 2026, only.
Project shall be ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Specifications on or before Monday, November 2, 2026.
Obtaining the Bidding Documents
Information and Bidding Documents for the Project is available at MID's Procurement Portal at: https://mercedid.bonfirehub.com/opportunities/232811. Prospective Bidders will need to register with MID's Procurement Portal to download Bid documents and submit a proposal. The Procurement Portal will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through the Procurement Portal. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than MID's Procurement Portal.
Pre-Bid Conference
A mandatory pre-bid conference for the Project will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM. The pre-bid conference will commence at Merced Irrigation District Control Center located at 3321 N. Franklin Road, Merced, CA 95348. A mandatory site visit will take place after.
