PUBLIC NOTICE In accordance with the Georgia Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Act, Section 12-8-32(c), PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby served that the Houston County Board of Commissioners on September 29, 2026 received a Notice of Site Suitability for a solid waste disposal facility from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Environmental Protection Division (EPD) for a solid waste disposal operation known as the Houston County SR 247 Klondike C&D Landfill Proposed Expansion. The facility is located at 2080 Hwy 247 South, Mile Marker 2, Kathleen, Georgia 31047. Houston County will host a public meeting to inform affected residents and landowners in the area of the Houston County –SR 247 Klondike C&D Landfill of the opportunity to engage in a facility issues negotiations process.
