MACON WATER AUTHORITY SEWAGE SPILL A sanitary sewage spill occurred on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 1:02 pm until 2:30 pm at the Corbin Avenue Lift Station (2661 Pierce Avenue North). This major spill was caused by aging infrastructure and vibration from heavy equipment passing over the force main. MWA has contained the spill, and the force main has been repaired. The amount of the spill was determined to be 74,850 gallons, which entered the Ocmulgee River.
