SEWAGE SPILL
A major spill occurred on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the Rocky Creek Water Reclamation Facility outfall located at 4705 Mead Rd. The cause of the spill was an NPDES permit violation for Total Suspended Solids (TSS). The Georgia EPD requires Rocky Creek WRF to report as a Major Spill if the discharge to the waters of the State exceeds on any single day 67.5 mg/L for TSS. The measured TSS Effluent result was 71 mg/L. The amount of the spill was determined to be 18.93 MG. Water quality testing of this site began on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, to determine the impact at upstream and downstream locations from the spill site.
