Blue Grass Army Depot Public Notice Construction of a Container Manufacturing Facility Environmental Assessment (EA) and DRAFT Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) Blue Grass Army Depot (BGAD), Richmond, Kentucky The United States Army (Army) announces the availability of an EA and a Draft FONSI that assesses the cumulative effects of the potential environmental and socioeconomic impacts associated with the construction of a Military Container Production Facility. The proposed action is needed to address the global shipping container shortage and to develop domestic manufacturing capabilities for shipping containers. The facility will include 650,000 sq ft of production facility underroof over a 50-acre facility footprint. The facility will include two (2) production lines with two (2) shift operations and potentially create several jobs at BGAD.
