JOSEPH (JOE) & JOYCE (BRIGHT) JACOBS will celebrate 70 years of
marriage on April 7, 2026. High school sweethearts from Wyandotte High, they
were wed April 7, 1956, at First Baptist Church, KCK.
Joe, a retired Boilermaker after 40 years, and Joyce, a dedicated wife,
mother, grandmother, and homemaker, have resided in their KCMO Northland home for 67 years.
They are the proud parents of Joe III, Jeffery, and Jon (Melissa); grandparents
of 7; and great-grandparents of 12.
Lifelong KU Jayhawks and KC Royals fans, the couple will be honored by their
three sons with a family celebration at Stroud’s Oakwood Manor. Their 70-year
journey of humility, devotion, and family remains an inspiration to all who
know them.
