KCPS REPRESENTATIVE TO THE KCPS RETIREMENT
SYSTEM BOARD OF TRUSTEES
The Kansas City Public Schools Board of Directors is accepting applications for appointment to the Kansas City Public School Retirement System (KCPSRS) Board of Trustees. Applicants must reside within KCPS boundaries and meet the eligibility requirements of §169.291.1, RSMo.
The appointed individual will serve from the date of appointment through December 31, 2027, and may be eligible for reappointment to a subsequent four-year term.

Preferred qualifications include experience in business or banking; insurance or actuarial science; risk management; legal or regulatory compliance; investment management or financial analytics; organizational governance; or private-sector leadership.
Trustee responsibilities include policy adoption and oversight; financial and administrative monitoring; review of actuarial and audit reports; participation in Executive Sessions; and compliance with all KCPS and KCPSRS governance requirements. Trustees attend seven regular meetings per year, committee meetings as assigned, and must complete six hours of annual continuing education as required by law.
