Newman has applied to the Department of Environmental Services, Bureau of Coastal Management for a permit to construct a 4'x48' walkway with handrails leading to a 9'x9' covered pier head with water and electricity. Located to the right side of the pier head is a 6'x16' floating dock attached to the pier head by a 3'x24' ramp. Dock will be for the private recreational use of the property owner. The residential dock is located at 121 N. Hermitage Road, Beaufort County on and adjacent to Battery Creek.
