Public Notice Dominion Energy South Carolina is applying to the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services – Bureau of Coastal Management for a Critical Area Permit. The project subject to permitting involves the installation of approximately 4,300 linear feet of 4-inch diameter natural gas pipeline along Myrtle Island Road in Beaufort County, South Carolina. Approximately 1,400 linear feet of pipeline is proposed to be installed via horizontal directional drill (HDD) under an unnamed creek and surrounding critical area that flows under Myrtle Island Road into the May River. The use of HDD is intended to avoid impacts to the creek. As a result, no impacts to jurisdictional wetlands or waters are anticipated.
