Public Notice - SCDES-BCM Kane Island Development Co., LLC has applied to SCDES-BCM for a permit to construct a community dock, a boat landing and a courtesy dock for private use in Distant Island Creek just off Islands Causeway in the City of Beaufort, Beaufort County, SC. The proposed dock will consist of a 6' wide walkway with handrails 101' in length, a 39' x 41' covered pierhead and a 10' x 125' floating dock. The walkway will be connected to the floating dock by a 5' x 65' aluminum gangway pierhead. The floating dock will include a 3' x 8' fish cleaning station with roof. Lighting for navigation and safety as well as potable water will also be provided. The proposed project also includes a concrete boat ramp that is 17' wide and 128' in length. This ramp includes the associated rip rap on all sides to prevent erosion. Adjacent to the proposed ramp will be a courtesy dock that includes a 6' wide walkway that is 40' in length leading to a 5' x 55' wide aluminum gangway leading to a 10' x 60' courtesy floating dock.
