Public Notice Lowcountry Area Transportation Study Long Range Transportation Plan Amendment Public Comment Period The Lowcountry Area Transportation Study (LATS), the transportation planning agency for the Beaufort - Jasper urbanized area, is requesting the public provide comments on proposed amendment to the 2045 Rual Long Range Transportation plan (LRTP). The LRTP contains the region's twenty plus year financially constrained list of transportation projects. The report providing details of the proposed LRTP amendment will be available for review on or before July 27th, 2026, at the Lowcountry Councils of Governments office and on the LCOG website at www.lowcountrycog.org. Any changes to the report will be posted on the website. The comment period starts on July 29th, 2026. Written comments on the proposed RTIP amendment will be accepted until close of business on August 19th, 2026.
