FACILITY DESCRIPTION: Land application of treated effluent. This 0.600 MGD facility consists of dual static screens, primary and tertiary treatment cells divided into four sections by curtains, dual chlorine contact chamber, sodium hypochlorite metering pumps, primary and secondary effluent holding ponds, effluent pump station and dedicated spray site. The treated effluent leaves the treatment plant and is held in two (2) storage basins, with capacities of 2.5 million gallons and 3.5 million gallons.
The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for the permit is 4952-Sewerage Systems, Establishment primarily engaged in the collection and disposal of wastes through a sewer system, including treatment processes. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is 221320-Sewage Treatment Facilities, Establishment primarily engaged in operating sewer systems or sewage treatment facilities that collect, treat, and dispose of waste.

PROPOSAL: Reissuance of a 0.6 MGD Land Application Permit: ND0068781
PERMIT SUMMARY: This is a permit reissuance to land apply treated effluent to a 126 acre spray field adjacent to the facility.
CONDITIONS:
• This permit when issued will supersede an existing permit which expired on: September 30, 2023
• This permit allows for the use of two (2) storage basins for treated effluent, with capacities of 2.5 million gallons and 3.5 million gallons, which is later spray irrigated onto the 126 acre spray site.
•This permit contains nine (9) groundwater monitoring wells associated with the wastewater treatment system or other activities related to the discharge covered by this permit
•This Permit allows for disposal of wastewater by: Spray Irrigation to 126 acre spray field, permitted to receive 925,000 gpd with an application rate not to exceed 2.0 inches/week
•This permit allows for land application of: Wastewater Only
•This permit allows for disposal of sludge by: transport to the BJWSA Cherry Point WRF (SC0047279) or BJWSA Port Royal Island WRF (SC0048348).
