PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT JASPER COUNTY COUNCIL WILL HOLD THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC HEARINGS on July 20, 2026, at 6:00 PM in the Jasper County Council Chambers at the Clementa C. Pinckney Government Building located at 358 Third Avenue, Ridgeland, South Carolina on the following items: 1. An Ordinance to amend the Official Zoning Map of Jasper County so as to transfer a property consisting of approximately 6.8 acres, located along Patriot Pt, bearing Jasper County Tax Map Number 024-00-05-021 from the Residential Zoning District to the Rural Preservation Zoning District on the Jasper County Official Zoning Map. 2. An Ordinance to amend the Official Zoning Map of Jasper County so as to transfer a property consisting of approximately 0.47 acres, located along Breezy Ln and Levy Rd, and bearing Jasper County Tax Map Number 038-00-06-208, from the Residential Zoning District to the Community Commercial Zoning District on the Jasper County Official Zoning Map. PUBLIC COMMENTS, WRITTEN OR ORAL, ARE INVITED. At the public hearing, all taxpayers and residents of Jasper County and other interested persons who appear will be given an opportunity to express their views for or against the ordinance. Anyone wishing to comment on any of the proposed ordinances is encouraged to attend the public hearing and must sign-in on the public hearing sign-in sheet before the meeting begins. Additional options to participate in the public hearing include emailing written comments to the Planning Department at planningcomments@jaspercountysc.gov or to the Clerk to Council at comments@jaspercountysc.gov or by mailing comments to Wanda Simmons Giles, Clerk to Council at P.O. Box 1149, Ridgeland, SC. All written comments must be received by 1:00 pm on July 20, 2026.
