NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE ADOPTION OF THE ANNUAL BUDGET OF THE FRIPP ISLAND PUBLIC SERVICE DISTRICT, SOUTH CAROLINA The Fripp Island Public Service District Commission (the "Commission"), the governing body of the Fripp Island Public Service District (the "District"), will hold a public hearing regarding the adoption of its fiscal year July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027 budget (the "Public Hearing") at the Fripp Island Fire Station, 289 Tarpon Boulevard, Fripp Island, SC 29920 on June 25, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. The Public Hearing will be held in order to comply with the requirements of Section 6-1-80 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976, as amended. This notice is given in lieu of the requirements of Section 4-9-130 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976, as amended. Estimates of the anticipated revenue and expenditures of the fiscal year 2025-2026 budget and the proposed revenue and expenditures of the fiscal year 2026-2027 budget are as follows: Revenues Expenditures Fiscal Year 2025-2026 $5,110,483 $4,357,675 Fiscal Year 2026-2027 $4,740,830 $4,669,058 Percentage Increase/(Decrease) (Est.) (7%) 7% The total operating millage of the District for tax year 2026 was 16.5 mills. The total millage necessary to fund the operations of the District for fiscal year 2026-2027 will be 16.9 mills. There will be a 0.4 increase in the total millage levy of the District for the 2026 tax year over that of the 2025 tax year. Of the total millage of the District for the 2026 tax year, 3.0 mills are to be levied for the purpose of funding the operations of the erosion and bridge fund and 13.9 mills are to be levied to fund fire services. The total millage levied by the District for the 2026 tax year is expected to generate $1,269,291 which, combined with other revenues and fund balance of the District, is expected to meet the budgeted expenditures and reserve requirements of the District. The aforesaid Public Hearing shall be conducted publicly, and both proponents and opponents of the proposed action shall be given full opportunity to be heard in person or by counsel. Following the Public Hearing, the Commission shall determine, by resolution, whether to adopt the proposed budget of the District.
