FACILITY DESCRIPTION: Spring Island WWTP is a lagoon system which land applies through spray irrigation onto 37 acres of adjacent golf course land. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for the permit is 4952- Sewerage Systems: Establishment primary engaged in the collection and disposal of wastes through a sewer system, including treatment processes. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is 221320–Sewage Treatment Facilities: Establishment primary engaged in operating sewer systems or sewage treatment facilities that collect, treat, and dispose of waste.

PROPOSAL: Reissuance of a 0.0525 MGD Land Application Permit: ND0077828
PERMIT SUMMARY: This is a permit reissuance to land apply wastewater to eight (8) sprayfields on a golf course adjacent to the facility, totaling 37 acres.
Proposed changes to this facility's current permit include, however, may not be limited to:
PART III.C.1. a: Ammonia has been removed from the list of required parameters to be sampled for in the Groundwater Monitoring Requirements.
Groundwater Monitoring Frequency has been updated to Annually.
CONDITIONS:
This permit when issued will supersede an existing permit which will expire on: 7/31/2026
This permit contains five (5) groundwater monitoring wells associated with the waste water treatment system or other activities related to the discharge covered by this permit
The permittee land applies wastewater by: spray irrigation on eight (8) sprayfields totaling 37 acres • This permit allows for land application of: Wastewater Only
This permit allows for disposal of sludge by: transport to the BJWSA Cherry Point Water Reclamation Facility (SC0047279) or the BJWSA Port Royal Island Water Reclamation Facility (SC0047279)
