NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION Para más detalles llame 1-800-660-6789 PROJECT NAME: LOS BANOS-GATES #1 AND LOS BANOS-MIDWAY #2 500 KV TRANSPOSITION STRUCTURE INSTALLATION PROJECT (FRESNO COUNTY, T.0009194) ADVICE LETTER NUMsBER: 7980-E Proposed Project: To maintain safe and reliable electric service, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) proposes to replace approximately ten existing lattice steel towers on the parallel Los Banos–Gates #1 and Los Banos–Midway #2 500-kilovolt (kV) transmission lines in rural western Fresno County with three-pole tubular steel structures at five locations on each line. The new structures will be installed in approximately the same location as the existing 100-150 feet tall lattice steel towers; the new structures will range from 75-165 feet tall. The proposed structures will be installed in PG&E’s existing 500 kV transmission corridor that runs north to south parallel to Interstate 5. The ten transposition structures will be constructed as paired installations at five locations distributed along the corridor. The northernmost location is approximately 2.5 miles east of Interstate 5 and 2 miles south of Manning Avenue. The next location is approximately 2 miles east of Interstate 5 and 2 miles south of Kamm Avenue. The third location is approximately 1.5 miles east of Interstate 5 and 0.3 miles south of Cantua Creek. The fourth location is approximately 0.5 miles west of Interstate 5 and 2.25 miles northwest of the intersection of Interstate 5 and State Route 145. The southernmost location is approximately 2 miles east of Interstate 5 and 2 miles south of State Route 145, near the intersection of S Colusa Avenue and W Marmon Avenue. Bucket trucks, cranes, cement trucks, and digger derricks will be used to facilitate construction. All vehicles will utilize existing and temporary access roads. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in the spring of 2027, or as soon as practicable after project approval. Construction is tentatively scheduled to be completed in the winter of 2028, or as soon as possible after construction begins. Exemption from CPUC Permit Requirement: CPUC General Order 131-E, Section III, Subsection A.1(c), exempts a utility from the CPUC’s requirement to file an application requesting authority to construct if a project meets specific conditions. This project qualifies for the following exemption(s): a. The replacement of existing power line facilities or supporting structures, or existing substation facilities or equipment, with equivalent facilities or structures.
