MEASURE TO BE VOTED ON AND NOTICE OF DATE FIXED
FOR SUBMITTING ARGUMENTS ON THE
CITY OF COALINGA SALES TAX RENEWAL MEASURE
Notice is hereby given that a special municipal election for the following measure is to be voted on at the Consolidated Statewide General Election to be held in the City of Coalinga on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
SYNOPSIS OF MEASURE
The proposed tax measure renews the previously voter-approved 1% sales tax (one cent for every dollar spent) within the City of Coalinga which generates $2,000,000 annually. Adoption of this renewal does not increase the sale tax above current levels. Funds generated by the revenue of the sales tax will continue to be allocated to the General Fund and may be used for any general fund purpose. All tax revenue would continue to be kept by the City and not be able to be spent by the State or County. The renewal will extend the expiration of the sales tax to April 1, 2039. The tax measure was placed on the ballot by the Coalinga City Council.
