NOTICE BY THE MADERA CITY COUNCIL OF ITS INTENT TO ADOPT AN ORDINANCE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on July 15, 2026, at 6:00 pm, or as soon after as the matter may be heard, in the City Hall Council Chambers, 205 W 4th St., Madera, CA 93637, the City Council of the City of Madera intends to adopt an Ordinance, entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MADERA AMENDING SUBSECTION (A) OF SECTION 5-1.31 OF CHAPTER 1 OF TITLE V OF THE MADERA MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING ALLOWABLE CHICKEN LIVESTOCK SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE The proposed Ordinance would amend the Madera City Municipal Code to permit only hens and pullets to be kept within City limits thereby prohibiting the keeping of roosters. The proposed Ordinance does not apply to properties zoned for appropriate agriculture uses, nor would it prohibit the sale of roosters.
