NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CONFIRMING AND ORDERING ANNEXATION INTO KERMANLANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 1, AREA 17, AND ESTABLISHING A LEVY OF ASSESSMENTS FOR THE ANNEXED TERRITORY NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at 6 p.m. on July 8, 2026, or as soon thereafter as practicable, at Council Chambers, City of KERMAN, 850 S. Madera Avenue, KERMAN, California 93630, the City Council of the City of Kerman will hold a public hearing regarding the annexation of Tract No. 6572, consisting of lots 1 through 102, generally located on the west side of Del Norte Avenue, approximately 500 feet north of Whitesbridge Road, to City of Kerman Landscaping and Lighting District No. 1 ("LLD No. 1") pursuant to the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, California Streets and Highways Code Section 22500 et. seq. The improvements provided for the properties within LLD No. 1 through the assessments levied annually thereon shall include (a) the installation or construction of public lighting, facilities, including, but not limited to street and trail lights; (ii) the installation or planting of landscaping, including, but not limited to, street trees, trails, parkways, and median islands; (iii) the installation or construction of irrigation systems; and (iv) the maintenance and servicing of any of the foregoing. At the hearing, the testimony of all interested persons, including persons owning property or residing in the area proposed to be annexed. If you wish to legally challenge any action taken by the City on the above matter, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the City at, or prior to, the public hearing. Written comments and protests may be submitted prior to the public hearing to the City Clerk at the above address. If 50% or more of the property owners within the property proposed to be annexed object to the annexation, then the annexation will not occur.
