NOTICE OF ELECTION FOR GOVERNING BOARD MEMBERS OF THE COLLEGE OF THE SEQUOIAS COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO ALL QUALIFIED PERSONS that an election will be held in, WARDS 1, 2, and 5 of the COLLEGE OF THE SEQUOIAS COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT, County of Tulare, State of California, on the 3rd day of November 2026 for the purpose of electing 3 members to the governing board of said community college district, one each from Wards 1, 2 and 5 for terms expiring on December 13, 2030. Please note that Ward 5 is partially in Kings County. Any person, regardless of sex, who is 18 years of age or older, a citizen of the state, a resident of the community college district (and ward), a registered voter, and who is not disqualified by the Constitution or laws of the state from holding a civil office, is eligible to be elected or appointed a member of a governing board of a community college district. The Nomination Period is July 13, 2026 - August 7, 2026. Candidate applications will be available online at www.tularecounty.ca.gov/elections. Beginning July 13, 2026, individuals interested in becoming candidates may contact the Tulare County Registrar of Voters to schedule an appointment to file nomination documents. Appointments are required and may be scheduled either by phone or through the website. The online appointment calendar will open on July 6, 2026. In the event there are insufficient nominees or no nominees for an office or offices and a timely petition is not filed pursuant to Education Code section 5326, an appointment will be made. In the event there are no nominees to an office or offices, the governing board of this district shall, prior to making any appointment and in accordance with Education Code section 5328.5, notify its residents that it intends to make an appointment or appointments. This notice shall further inform such residents of the procedure available for applying for said office or offices.
