NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Draft 2025 Urban Water Management Plan and Draft 2025 Water Shortage Contingency Plan
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Fresno (City) will conduct a public hearing at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, in the City Council Chambers at the City Hall, located at 2600 Fresno Street. The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments on the City's Draft 2025 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) and Draft 2025 Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP), as required by Water Code section 10642.
The Draft 2025 UWMP evaluates current and projected water supply availability and reliability, and compares these supplies with current and anticipated water demands through 2050. The Draft 2025 WSCP outlines the City's planned actions in the event of a severe water shortage or water supply emergency.
The 2020 Urban Water Management Plan and 2020 Water Shortage Contingency Plan were last adopted by the City Council on July 15, 2021.
Interested parties are invited to provide public comments on the documents during the hearing. In accordance with Government Code Section 7291, interpreter services and additional accommodations—such as assistive listening devices—can be made available upon request. Requests for accommodations should be submitted more than five working days in advance, but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled hearing. The documents will be available for public review beginning Monday, May 18, 2026. Physical copies of both documents may be reviewed at the following Fresno County Library locations: Central Library (2420 Mariposa St.), Woodward Park Regional Library (944 E. Perrin Ave.), Betty Rodriguez Regional Library (3040 N. Cedar Ave.), and Sunnyside Regional Library (5566 E. Kings Canyon Rd.). Electronic copies will also be available online at https://www.fresno.gov/publicutilities/plans-and-reports/ - water-resource-management-plans. Documents can be provided in alternate formats upon request.
