NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF THE ANNUAL ASSESSMENT FOR THE LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 1 Notice is hereby given that on May 21, 2026, the City Council of the City of Fresno ("Council") adopted Resolution 2026-119 ordering the levy and authorizing the collection of an annual assessment for the City of Fresno Landscaping and Lighting Maintenance District No. 1 ("LLMD No. 1") for fiscal year 2026-2027 under the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972, Part 2 of Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code (beginning with Section 22500), (the "Act"). Under the Act and Resolution 2026-119, the City of Fresno gives notice as follows: The text of Resolution 2026-119, including exhibits thereto, as adopted by the Council is on file with the City Clerk and reference is made thereto for the particular provisions thereof. The text of Resolution 2026-119 is summarized as follows: As permitted by the Act, the City of Fresno is undertaking the proceedings to assess and levy the benefiting territories within LLMD No. 1, the boundaries which are shown on the diagrams on file with City Clerk. The benefit provided by LLMD No. 1 is for the maintenance and operation of landscaping facilities associated with these territories as more fully described in Resolution 2026-119 and Exhibit B thereto. As required by the Act the Director of the Public Works Department, or his designee, has prepared and filed with the City Clerk a report labeled Engineer's Report of City of Fresno LLMD No. 1, dated April 28, 2026 ("the Report") incorporated herein by this reference. The Report contains a description of the existing improvements, any substantial changes in existing improvements, detached properties, the boundaries of the assessment district and any zones therein (including the general location), and the proposed assessments upon assessable lots and parcels of land within LLMD No. 1. The proposed fiscal year 2026-2027 assessments do not reflect an increase in assessments over the fiscal year 2025-2026 assessments, except for the assessments for Tract 3884 of LLMD No. 1, which are subject to a previously approved annual adjustment as provided in the Engineer's Report and in accordance with Government Code Section 53750. The proposed assessments do not include any added or annexed properties. Council has approved the Report by Council Resolution 2026-119. The time and place established by Resolution 2026-119 for the public hearing on levying and collecting the proposed assessments will be held June 18, 2026, at 9:10 a.m., in the Council Chambers, Second Floor of City Hall, 2600 Fresno Street, Fresno, California 93721. All interested persons are invited to be heard on the levy and collection of proposed assessments. Written protests may be filed with the City Clerk anytime before the hearing concludes. A written protest shall state all grounds for objecting and shall contain a description sufficient to identify the property owned by the protesting person or persons. I, AMY K.
