Family Home Agency- AB637 Waiver Request For AB/637 public notice Central Valley Regional Center (CVRC) currently contracts with Enriching Lives Family Home Agency (FHA). A Family Home Agency (FHA) approves family homes which offer the opportunity for up to two adult individuals with developmental disabilities per home to reside with a family and share in the interaction and responsibilities of being part of a family. CVRC is requesting a waiver to expand the definition of consumer as designed in Title 17, section 56076 (e)(2) to include a regional center adult parent and one child. CVRC believes that the waiver will provide an additional living option to individuals who need training and support to successfully raise a child. Budget analysis: CVRC does not expect a high incident of need for this service; therefore, it is not anticipated that this arrangement will have a negative impact on the state and Regional Center budget. Impact on consumers served: Approval of this waiver will not result in reducing direct services to the parent as the FHA will continue to provide the FHA's services and support to the parent in addition to guidance and instruction in parenting. The parent will be responsible for the care and finances of the child. A public notice will be held to receive comments on the proposal.
