NOTICE INVITING BIDS PURSUANT TO PUBLIC CONTRACT CODE 22000, ET SEQ.
(THE UNIFORM PUBLIC CONSTRUCTION COST ACCOUNTING ACT)
Notice is hereby given that the Madera Unified School District ("MUSD") will receive sealed bids for Bid No.040826-Preschool Modular Building for King Husein School
A mandatory Job-Walk will be held April 16, 2026 @ 10:00 a.m. at:
King Husein 3480 W. Cleveland Ave., Madera CA 93637 (Meet in front of construction trailer).
To the extent required by Public Contract Code Section 20103.7, the District shall also make the Contract Documents available for review at one or more plan rooms.
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 1770 et seq of the California Labor Code, each worker of the contractor and any of its subcontractors engaged in work on the Project shall be paid not less than the prevailing wage rate.
SB 854 established new public works contractor registration program requirements for all public works projects. Pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5; Starting March 1st, 2015 no contractor/subcontractor may be listed in a bid proposal unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). Starting April 1st, 2015 no contractor/subcontractor may be awarded a contract, nor employed on a Public Works project unless registered with the DIR. This project is subject to prevailing wage requirements and compliance monitoring and enforcement by the DIR and may at any time require contractors/subcontractors to upload electronic certified payroll records on the DIR website.
Bidders shall be required to have a valid class "B" Contractor's License.
SUMMARY OF WORK
Madera Unified is soliciting bids to award a contract for design services and construction of a permanent modular preschool building at King Husein School. This bid includes only the modular building scope. Bidders should provide their cost to design, furnish and install the modular building as described in the bridging documents. Upon receipt of all bids, MUSD will enter into a contract with the successful low bidder to design and seek approvals for the modular building through DSA. The school district's architect will coordinate and assist the modular manufacturer with the development of the approval documents and the final DSA approvals process.
A future bid will occur to select a general contractor to oversee the installation and associated site work required to provide a fully operational facility. General contracts need not bid on this initial package. ONLY modular manufacturers' scope is included in this solicitation.
Sealed Bids must be received by April 30,2026 at MUSD Purchasing Department, 1205 Madera Avenue, Madera CA 93637. (Located on the 2nd floor) no later than 2:00:00 pm
The Estimated Cost for this project is $1,100,000
Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check , or bidders bond in an amount not less than ten (10%) percent of the total bids made payable to MUSD. The substitution of appropriate securities in lieu of retention amounts from progress payments in accordance with public Contract Code Section 22300 is permitted.
