PUBLIC NOTICE Please take notice that in water year 2026 Kern-Tulare Water District ("KTWD") anticipates approving water transfers totaling up to 58,300 acre-feet of Central Valley Project ("CVP) water available under its contracts with the United States Bureau of Reclamation ("Transfer Water"). The Transfer Water is more than 20 percent of the District's CVP water that is subject to long-term contracts with the United States Bureau of Reclamation. KTWD anticipates water transfers could be made during March 2026 through February 2027 at various prices with the United States Bureau of Reclamation, Kern County Water Agency and/or other CVP Contractors. These transfers are authorized under section 3405(a) of the Central Valley Project Improvement Act (Title 34 of Public Law 102-575), and in accordance with the terms and conditions of KTWD's CVP repayment contract. This notice is provided in accordance with Section 3405 of Public Law 102-575, the requirements of the United States Bureau of Reclamation's "Interim Guidelines For Implementation of the Water Transfer Provisions of the Central Valley Project Improvement Act". Members of the public are invited to submit comment, ask questions or provide relevant information concerning the proposed transfer(s) described in this notice.
