The Public Improvement District will provide, through a special assessment, funding for the purpose of maintenance and repair of existing and future public landscape and other enhancements to specified public areas within the District. The District has been continuously operating since establishment in 2001.
The estimated cost of maintenance and improvements of the District's operations for calendar year 2027 is $541,900, of which approximately $631,199 will be funded through assessments against owners of real property located in the PID.
The general boundaries of the assessment district are as follows: Highway 360 (West), Mayfield Rd. (North), Saguaro Drive (east), just north of Fish Creek (south).
Citizens may present written or oral objections at the Public Hearing.
At the September 1, 2026 hearing, the City Council will consider levying the following assessment against real property in the District: $0.10 per $100 of the appraised value of the real property within the District. This will CONTINUE the assessment currently in place for a one-year period (October 1, 2026-September 30, 2027) for all properties in accordance with state law.
A five-year service plan, to be adopted by the City Council, will define the nature and projected cost of the improvements to be funded by the assessment. The proposed apportionment of cost will be totally borne by the Public Improvement District for those improvements identified in the five-year service plan.
