Ordinance No. 26-030 An ordinance amending the "Transportation" Chapter of the Code of the City of Arlington, Texas, 1987, through the amendment of Article I, General Provisions, Section 1.02, Definitions, by the amendment of the definitions of "Driver" and "NEV-for-hire" to amend references from Neighborhood Electric Vehicle to Low-Speed Vehicle; Article V, Standards for Operation, Section 5.18, Pick­up and Drop-off in Certain Areas Prohibited During Special Events, Subsection (A), relative to adding additional locations to prohibit for-hire vehicles from picking up and dropping off, changing the designated location near Choctaw Stadium for the Arlington Entertainment Area Management District passenger drop-off and pick-up, and adding a provision relative to vehicle for-hire operations that are pursuant to a written agreement; and Article X, Pedicab and NEV-for-Hire Operation, by the amendment of the title; Section 10.02, Definitions, by the amendment of the definitions of "Neighborhood Electric Vehicle or NEV", "Owner", "Passenger", and "Vehicle" to amend references from Neighborhood Electric Vehicle to Low-Speed Vehicle; Section 10.04, Use of NEV-for-hire prohibited, by the amendment of the title and amendment of references from Neighborhood Electric Vehicle to Low-Speed Vehicle; and Section 10.05, Presence of passengers, to amend references from Neighborhood Electric Vehicle to Low-Speed Vehicle; providing for a fine of up to $500 for each offense in violation of the ordinance; providing this ordinance be cumulative; providing for severability; governmental immunity; injunctions; publication and an effective date Any person, firm, corporation, agent or employee thereof who violates any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined an amount not to exceed Five Hundred Dollars and No Cents ($500) for each offense.
