The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Southeast, in cooperation with the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, invites public comment on the Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis (EE/CA) for a proposed removal action to address potential soil impacts from military munitions constituents at Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) 3 at Naval Air Station (NAS) Joint Reserve Base (JRB) Fort Worth. The EE/CA presents the evaluation of process options and alternatives and details the preferred alternative specifically to address potential military munitions constituents at UXO 3 resulting from historical small arms range activities. The EE/CA was prepared under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) (also known as Superfund). The objective of removal action at UXO 3 is to eliminate potential risk and eliminate the potential for future exposure via soil excavation of impacted soils to residential use standards.
Community input is integral to the removal action alternative selection process at NAS JRB Fort Worth. The public is encouraged to review and comment on the EE/CA. The public may comment by sending written comments to the following address or by e-mail.
