The proposed project would include realigning and widening FM 157 from BUS 287P in Mansfield to US 67 in Venus, for a total of about 7.74 miles. The road would be widened to a four-lane divided roadway section (two lanes in each direction separated by a median) with a 12-foot shared-use path on both sides of the roadway. The purpose of the project is to add capacity and enhance overall safety by updating design to current standards for roadway alignment. The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require about 170.8 acres of additional right of way and potentially displace six residential structures and two non-residential structures. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated July 17, 2025, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT
