Notice Virtual Public Hearing with In-Person OptionFM 157 From BUS 287 to US 67 CSJ: 0747-05-035 Johnson County, Texas The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Fort Worth District is proposing to realign and widen FM 157 from BUS 287 to US 67 in Johnson County, Texas. This notice advises the public that TxDOT will be conducting an online virtual public hearing on the proposed project, with an in-person option. The virtual hearing will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation and will include both audio and visual components. The in-person option will be held in a “come and go” open house format. Attendees will be able to: • View the same pre-recorded presentation delivered in the online public hearing, which will be playing on a screen. • Participate in the project development process by reviewing hard copies of project materials and details. • Ask questions of the project team. • Submit written comments and feedback. The in-person option will be held on: Thursday, May 7, 2026. Come and go anytime from 5 to 7 p.m. at New Hope Community Church - 11965 CR 506, Venus, TX 76084. The proposed project would include realigning and widening FM 157 from BUS 287P in Mansfield to US 67 in Venus, for a total of about 7.74 miles. The road would be widened to a four-lane divided roadway section (two lanes in each direction separated by a median) with a 12-foot shared-use path on both sides of the roadway. The purpose of the project is to add capacity and enhance overall safety by updating design to current standards for roadway alignment. The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require about 170.8 acres of additional right of way and potentially displace six residential structures and two non-residential structures. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses.
