LEGAL NOTICE
A public hearing was held by the Hurst City Council on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. at Hurst City Hall, 1505 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, Texas to consider ordering the repair, removal or demolition of property located at 1324 W Redbud Drive, Hurst, Texas, 76053, otherwise known as Hurst Hills Addition, Block 13 Lot 7. An order was issued on January 13, 2026, finding the structure(s) on the Property to be substandard and the City Council ORDERS that 1) No later than February 13, 2026, the Property and structures on the Property be demolished such that the property is in compliance with Chapter 5 of the City of Hurst Code of Ordinances; 2) the Property has not been brought into full compliance with the City Council's ordered action by February 13, 2026, the City Council may consider the assessment of a civil penalty of $1,000 per day per violation against the Property owner, which may be secured by a lien against the Property and accrue interest in the rate of ten percent (10%); and 3) The owners, mortgagees, lienholders and those with a vested interest in the Property appear before the City Council on March 10, 2026, to determine compliance with this Order and whether civil penalties should be assessed 4) If the Property and structures on the Property are not demolished such that the property is in compliance with Chapter 5 of the City of Hurst Code of Ordinances within 30 days from the date of this order, the work may be accomplished by city personnel or by private contract pursuant to Code of Ordinances Sec. 5-299 and the City reserves the right to place a lien on the Property to secure the recovery of the City's costs.
