NOTICE The Grand Jury of Muscogee County will be making appointments of the Muscogee County Board of Equalization. The boards hear appeals of assessed property values of Muscogee County. Each board is comprised of three members and three alternates. Once applications are received, they are submitted to the Grand Jury. The Grand Jury is responsible for appointing members to the Boards of Equalization. Applicants must be the owner of real property located in the county where such person is appointed to serve, qualified and competent to serve as a grand juror, at least a high school graduate and should be familiar with the real estate of Muscogee County (each member/alternate must complete required training courses). No member of the governing authority, board of education, board of tax assessors or the county tax appraiser may serve on the county board of equalization.
