On August 22, 1976, in Monroe, Wisconsin, Allen Buol and Monika Kottusch said and began a journey that has spanned five incredible decades. Allen, son of Valentine and Lois Buol, from Monroe, Wisconsin, and Monika, daughter of Edmund and Anna Kottusch, from Nurnberg, Germany, met while Allen was serving in the U.S. Army in Germany, where their love story began! From Germany, to traveling the world, and then eventually to South Carolina, their journey together has taken them through many chapters of life. Now retired, they have made Cayce, SC, their home since March 1994.
Over the past 50 years, their greatest blessing is the family they built together. They are the proud parents of 3 children: Susan (Jermaine), Michael, and Bryan, and grandparents to 6 grandchildren: Bailey, Jacob, Blakely, Presley, Parker, and Phoenix.
Today, Allen and Monika celebrate by simply enjoying what has always mattered most-being together! They will spend the day reflecting on the past 50 years, remembering the special moments that brought them here, sharing stories and laughter, and looking forward to all the wonderful years still ahead!
