It is with great pleasure that Jake Thompson and Emily McDowell announce their marriage on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Charleston, South Carolina.
Mr. Jacob "Jake" Thompson, III, Esq. of Columbia, South Carolina, is a native of the Pee Dee. He is a graduate of The University of the South (Class of 2018), The University of South Carolina, School of Law (Class of 2021), and currently practices law at Turner Padget Graham & Laney. Jake is the son of Jacob "Mel" Thompson, II and Shawn Hicks Haynes.
Mrs. Emily Thompson (nee McDowell) of Columbia, South Carolina, is a native of Andover, Massachusetts. She is a graduate of The University of South Carolina (Class of 2020), and is a Commercial Underwriter with Liberty Mutual Insurance. Emily is the daughter of Mr. Stuart McDowell and Mrs. Jane Elliott.
The Thompsons plan to continue to build their lives in Columbia and anticipate frequent trips to Andover. Mr. Thompson extends his sincere apologies for keeping another Yankee in South Carolina, but this one is a keeper!
