Office of Economic Opportunity Announces Virtual Public Hearing This notice advises the public that the South Carolina Office of Economic Opportunity (SC OEO) will conduct a public hearing, as required by law, virtually at 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 17, 2026, to formally review the proposed state plan for the 2026 South Carolina Weatherization Assistance Program for low-income households. To attend the virtual public hearing, go to https://oeo.sc.gov/managedsites/prd/oeo/weatherizationdocs.html on Monday, Aug. 17, at 2 p.m. and click on the displayed Microsoft Teams link. The grant period is July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The federal program is administered by the United States Department of Energy. Governing regulations are Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 440 Weatherization Assistance for Low-Income Persons. The proposed 2026 South Carolina Weatherization Assistance Program State Plan will be available Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, on the SC OEO website, https://oeo.sc.gov/managedsites/prd/oeo/weatherizationdocs.html. Persons desiring to submit comments on the proposed 2026 South Carolina Weatherization Assistance Program State Plan may do so during the virtual hearing. Comments may also be mailed to the Office of Economic Opportunity at 1205 Pendleton Street, Suite 364 Columbia, SC 29201, or emailed to oeo@admin.sc.gov. SC OEO must receive all comments by 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2026.
