AMENDED NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is Hereby Given that the County Council of Lexington County will conduct a Public Hearing on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. (or as soon thereafter as can be heard) in the Dorothy K. Black Chambers located on the Second Floor of the County Administration Building, 212 South Lake Drive, Lexington, South Carolina. The purpose of such public hearing is to make a finding as to whether it may be in the interest of the Lexington County Rural Recreation District (the "District") to authorize the Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission on behalf of the District to issue general obligation bonds in the principal amount of not exceeding $74,000,000 (the "Bonds"). The Bonds are to be issued for the purpose of funding capital improvements including but not limited to the construction and equipping of a multi sports complex which could include a large capacity indoor sports events center and a number of playing fields, all of which will be designed for both regular daily use and tournament and championship level play. During the Public Hearing, County Council will receive public comments on Ordinance 26-11 - AUTHORIZING THE LEXINGTON COUNTY RURAL RECREATION AND AGING COMMISSION ON BEHALF OF THE LEXINGTON COUNTY RURAL RECREATION DISTRICT TO ISSUE GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS IN THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF NOT EXCEEDING $74,000,000 AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO. For the payment of the principal of and interest on the Bonds, as they respectively mature, and for the creation of such sinking fund as may be necessary therefor, the full faith, credit, resources and taxing power of the District shall be irrevocably pledged, and there shall be levied annually by the Auditor of Lexington County and collected by the Treasurer of Lexington County, in the same manner as county taxes are levied and collected, a tax without limit on all taxable property of the District sufficient to pay the principal and interest on the Bonds as they respectively mature and to create such sinking fund as may be necessary therefor. Both proponents and opponents of the proposed action shall be given full opportunity to be heard.
