Addressing Large Load Additions Docket No. 2026-138-E
Why is this Notice Important? • On May 27, 2026, Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC, and Duke Energy Progress, LLC, filed a Petition to Establish a Generic Docket for the Purpose of Receiving Comments Addressing Large Load Additions with the Public Service Commission of South Carolina (“Commission”). • The Petition requests that the Commission receive written comments concerning issues associated with new large load (50 megawatts or greater) additions, including existing rate schedules, service regulations, line extension policies, and interconnection rules, on topics related to new large load customers that include, but are not limited to: a. minimum contract period and contract demand for billing purposes; b. collateral requirements; c. exit policies and restrictions on customer capacity reduction; d. treatment of generation, transmission, and administrative costs; e. interconnection costs, including opportunities to support grid-enhancing technologies to manage such costs; f. optional tariff provisions for flexible interconnections; and g. optional tariff provisions for the management of clean behind-the-meter resources, and optional clean transition tariffs to enable direct selection of new clean energy resources. The Petition was filed pursuant to Order Nos. 2025-757 and 2025-769 and S.C. Code Ann. Regs. 103-825.

**You must give a copy of your Petition to Intervene to all Parties in this case. Petitions to Intervene must meet the requirements of Commission Regulation 103-825 and must be approved by the Commission. In the above referenced case, if the proposed tariffs contain any request for a change of rates, the proposed rates may be changed by the Commission.
