NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County Council for Fairfield County will conduct a public hearing relating to an Ordinance "TO ESTABLISH OPERATING AND CAPITAL BUDGETS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE COUNTY GOVERNMENT OF FAIRFIELD COUNTY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING JULY 1, 2026 TO PROVIDE FOR THE LEVY OF TAXES FOR FAIRFIELD COUNTY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING JULY 1, 2026; TO PROVIDE FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF TAX REVENUES AND OTHER COUNTY FUNDS; TO PROVIDE FOR OTHER COUNTY PURPOSES; TO PROVIDE FOR CERTAIN FISCAL AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING TO COUNTY GOVERNMENT; AND OTHER MATTERS RELATED THERETO." The total revenues for the operating budget for the current fiscal year, beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2026 ("2025-26 Fiscal Year"), are $55,617,765.00; $41,949,218.00 general fund and $13,668,547 all other funds. For 2026-27 fiscal year, the total expenditures for the operating budget are $58,545,814.00; $43,765,393 general fund and $14,780,421.00. The proposed total estimated revenues for the operating budget for the upcoming fiscal year, beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027 ("2026-27 Fiscal Year"), are $58,545,814; $43,765,393.00 general fund and $14,780421.00 all other funds. For 2026-27 Fiscal Year, the proposed total expenditures for the operating budget are $58,545,810.00; $43,765,393 general fund and $14,780,421.00 all other funds. The estimated percentage change between the 2025-26 fiscal year and the 2026-27 fiscal year operating budgets for revenues is an increase of 5% and for expenditures is an increase of 5%. The current operational millage rate for the 2020-21 fiscal year is 207.7 mils; 186 general fund and 21.8 all other funds. The estimated operational millage rate for the 2026-27 fiscal year as necessary to provide for the 2026-27 fiscal year is 207.7; 186.0 general fund and 21.8 all other funds. The hearing will be held in the Fairfield County Council Chambers, Government Complex, located at 250 N. Walnut Street, Second Floor, Winnsboro, South Carolina 29180, beginning at 6:00 p.m. on June 22, 2026. At the time and place fixed for this public hearing, all taxpayers, residents or other interested persons who appear will be given an opportunity to express their views for or against the matters contemplated by the Ordinance above-referenced. Any persons wishing to submit written comments may submit them to the County Administrator no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 19, 2026.
