RIVERBANKS PARKS COMMISSION NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING RIVERBANKS PARKS COMMISSION Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held regarding the FY2027 General Fund Budget of the Richland/Lexington Riverbanks Parks Special Purpose District (Riverbanks Zoo and Garden). The hearing will be held on Wednesday, the 10th of June, 2026 at 11:00am in the Rivermont Board Room, 400 Rivermont Drive, Columbia, SC 29210. The purpose of the public hearing will be to allow members of the public to express their views regarding the proposed operating budget for Riverbanks Zoo and Garden for FY2027. In accordance with Section 6-1-80, of the SC Code of Laws, in lieu of the requirements of Section 4-9-130, the public is advised of the following: 1. The budget for the current fiscal year 2026 consists of revenues of 25,901,100 and expenditures of $25,901,100. 2. The proposed budget for the FY2027 consists of revenues of $27,299,169 and expenditures of $27,299,169. 3. The proposed operating budget for the FY2027 represents a 5.4% increase in revenues and expenditures from the operating budget for the current fiscal year 2026. 4. Richland County ad valorem property taxes in the amount of 0.6 mills were levied in the current fiscal year 2026 to meet operational needs. 5. Lexington County provided $1,000,000 in the current fiscal year 2026 to meet operational needs. 6. The level of support from Richland County is estimated to decrease by 7.5% and support from Lexington County is expected to remain the same for the upcoming fiscal year 2027. IPL0342445 May 22 2026
