Price, Chair PO Box 11280 | Columbia, SC 29211-1280 CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: SOUTH CAROLINA CORN BOARD Pursuant to the provisions of the "Agricultural Commodities Marketing Act" and the Marketing Order for South Carolina Corn No. 14 issued by the Agriculture Commission of South Carolina on July 1, 2024, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Agriculture Commission of South Carolina is seeking nominees for the South Carolina Corn Board to succeed two members with terms that expire December 31, 2025. Nominees are needed to succeed members in District 2 & 4 (see counties below). The individuals appointed to the board will serve a three-year term beginning January 1, 2026, and ending December 31, 2028. To qualify, a candidate must be over the age of 25 and a resident of South Carolina, be actively engaged in producing corn within this State for a period of five years and have during this period, derived a substantial portion of their individual incomes therefrom. These qualifications must continue during the term of office. SC Corn Board members have the power and duties to administer, enforce, direct, and control the provisions of the SC Corn Marketing Order No. 14 as its administrative board. SC Corn Marketing Order No. 14 focuses on market development and research programs to aid, assist and enhance the South Carolina corn producing industry and to promote the sale, marketing, production and distribution of corn and corn products. The SC Corn Board holds several meetings per year to conduct business and board members receive reimbursement for mileage to and from meetings and a $50 per diem per meeting attended. District 2 includes the Counties of Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Horry, Marion, Marlboro. District 4 includes the Counties of Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Beaufort, Berkeley, Calhoun, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton, Jasper, Orangeburg.
