NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING – 2026.08.11 Notice is hereby given pursuant to N.C.G.S. 160D-107(b) that the Board of Commissioners of the Town of Waxhaw will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 6:30 PM or soon thereafter in the Waxhaw Town Hall Board Chambers, located at 4218 Waxhaw-Marvin Road, Waxhaw, NC to receive public comment on and consider the adoption of a proposed 12-month moratorium on the acceptance, processing and approval of development applications for data centers, cryptocurrency mining facilities, data storage and processing, and related telecommunications equipment and infrastructure for uses associated with digital data facilities within the Town of Waxhaw's zoning jurisdiction. The purpose of the proposed moratorium is to allow the Town sufficient time to research, study, develop, and consider appropriate amendments to the Town's Land Development Code and related policies to address the unique land use, infrastructure, environmental, and operational characteristics and impacts of data center development and operation. Changes to the proposed action may be made following the public hearing. The public is invited to attend the hearing to comment on the proposed 12-month moratorium.
