Gathers and Sylvia Ann McCray Golphin Case number: 2024 GC40 00097 and 2024 ES40 00266 NOTICE OF STATUS HEARING Date: August 13, 2026 Time: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM Place: Richland County Judicial Center Courtroom 2-F 1701 Main St. Columbia, South Carolina 29201 This status hearing has been scheduled for the Court to address two matters: (1) various outstanding issues in the Guardianship/Conservatorship of Montel Gathers, including but not limited to the Motion to Dismiss, and (2) the portion of the Estate of Sylvia Ann McCray Golphin attributable to Crystal Gathers. The Court shall receive an update regarding the sale of the Estate's real property, review the Estate bank statements, and examine any closing statements associated with the sale of the real property. No distribution of Crystal Gathers' share of the Estate shall be made until the Guardianship and Conservatorship proceedings have been concluded and the Court has authorized distribution. Attendance at this hearing is mandatory. All individuals receiving notice of this hearing are required to appear. Specifically, both Montel K. Gathers and Crystal Gathers are ordered to be present, their testimony and participation are necessary for the Court to address the outstanding issues and determine the appropriate disposition of the Estate and Guardianship/Conservatorship actions. Crystal Gathers is required to provide the court with a copy of her current ID as well as a lease with current address, name of employer with address and contact information, and any other written proof of current residence in the State of NC. Failure to appear may result in the Court proceeding in a party's absence and may subject the non-appearing party to any action or relief the Court deems appropriate.
