Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools Public Notice Proposed Lease of Real Estate The Charlotte Mecklenburg Board of Education (CMBE) intends to lease the following 2 school-board owned properties: Property 1 A certain portion of surplus property located a Quail Hollow Middle School, 2901 Smithfield Church Road, Charlotte, NC 28210, a portion of tax parcel 20920104. The School Board intends to lease the property to Alltel Corporation, d/b/a Verizon Wireless, to be used for a telecommunications facility. The lease will be for a term of 5 years, and Alltel will have the option to renew the lease for two additional five-year periods. In consideration of the lease, Alltel will pay CMBE $72,693.72 in year one. Each successive lease year rent will increase by 2 percent. Property 2 A certain portion of surplus property located at Ardrey Kell High School, 10220 Ardrey Kell Rd., Charlotte, NC 28277, a portion of tax parcel 22901130. The School Board intends to lease the property to Insite Towers Development 2, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, to be used for a telecommunications facility. The lease will be for a term of 5 years after the expiration of the current term (2/28/31) and Insite will have the option to renew the lease for one additional five-year period. In consideration of the lease, Insite will pay CMBE $42,360.84 in year one. Each successive lease year rent will increase by 3 percent. All person interested in these leases are invited to attend the meeting of the School Board to be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. At that time, the School Board intends to authorize the leases of the properties described above.
