NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PURSUANT TO NORTH CAROLINA GENERAL STATUTE §160A-536. The City of Gastonia proposes to provide a Facade Grant pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 160A-536, to Mr. Preston Wilson. The Gastonia City Council intends, subject to public comment at the public hearing for which notice is hereby given, to approve the City's standard Facade Grant in the amount of $20,000 and Architecture Grant in the amount of $1,500. Mr. Wilson intends to invest approximately $51,090 to preserve and restore the brick and decorative molding while replacing the degraded elements like the awning and storefront window system. The Gastonia City Council believes this project will stimulate and stabilize the local economy, promote business, increase the tax base, and create new jobs in the City. The Gastonia City Council shall hold a public hearing on the City's proposed grant at 6:00 o'clock p.m., in the Gaston County Courthouse, 325 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Way, Gastonia, North Carolina, Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at which time any person may be heard regarding the proposed grants described herein. All interested persons are invited to attend and present their views. Following the public hearing, the Gastonia City Council intends to consider the request to approve the grant.
